We have always been advocates of keeping the sex of a baby as a surprise for birth, but I have to say that it is pretty exciting to now know that we are looking forward to meeting “Abigail Joan”. But now that we know that, March seems like a long way off and it will be even longer than that before we get to hold her in our arms.

We came close two times to using the name “Abigail.” For our first daughter, we had it narrowed down to two names: Mallory and Abigail. We decided to wait until we saw her to decide. After an emergency C-section, I woke up able to hear her screaming her head off, but my eyes weren’t working too well, so I had to ask my husband whether she was a Mallory or an Abigail, and he said she was a Mallory….that was more than 21 years ago! The name came up again when we were expecting our fourth child. We had three girls by this time, and the name we chose for daughter #4 was Abigail….but it turned out that the baby was son #1. So Abigail never joined our family.
Congratulations on this happy development. Hope all goes well.
